Construction Update

This site will be updated after the regular monthly construction meetings occur. The intent is to provide a means of keeping the public up-to-date on the progress of the WHS additions.

The overall construction project involves the addition of 22 classrooms and a two-story library in a new south academic wing, the addition of a new competition gymnasium/fieldhouse and wrestling practice room on the east side of the building, and remodeling of the kitchen and commons facility in the core of the building. The commons will expand in to a portion of the current gymnasium space. Total additions to the building will be approximately 95,000 square feet.

The project will complete the final phase of WHS, merging the building with the former YMCA facility to the east. The original high school first opened in 1997 with a student capacity of 600 students, but was master planned to a final build-out capacity of 1,800 students. This project completes that build out. Total cost of the additions is approximately $15 million.
