School Improvement

Mission Statement:
Dedicated to optimizing individual learning and potential for success in a global community.
Every person associated with our schools is working to deliver on our mission and vision each day. Specifically, we want to prepare every child to be ready to enter a college/university or a highly skill job.
Theory of Action
A group of dedicated community members, parents and school personnel have laid out “a noble, logical diagram” for actualizing the mission and vision of our district. This diagram, referred to as a theory of action, defines what are perceived to be essential elements necessary to optimize learning in our organization.
The Theory of Action lays the foundation for defining what we value in WCSD and reminds us that the combination of hard work and a clear focus will allow us to truly optimize learning.

Site Visit 2011
Every five years, the Department of Education visits each school district in an effort to assess progress, make recommendations to improve instructional practices, determine compliance, and provide a general assessment of educational practices.
The Waukee Community School District was visited in March of 2011. The results of our site visit can be viewed below.
