Beyond the Bell programs are offered for students currently enrolled at our three school sites: Walnut Hills, Maple Grove and Shuler Elementary.

Our programs provide a safe, fun, and positive environment for children as well as for parents. We provide open communication between the staff, parents and the school to ensure that each child’s needs are met on a daily basis. Staff will be positive role models that will help each child benefit and grow through social interaction. We believe that children have positive attitudes when they are in a positive environment, and we achieve this through games, activities, crafts, as well as opportunities to socialize.

YMCA Before & After School Care

The Waukee Family YMCA provides before- and after-school child care at Brookview, Eason, and Waukee Elementary. Morning only, afternoon only or morning and afternoon care is available.
As with all YMCA programs, YMCA childcare and summer day camp focuses on developing character by challenging people to accept and demonstrate positive values. The YMCA core values are caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
